  2. So, I am commenting here because Obama broke reddit. :)

    Very good work!

    Thoughts/tips on your game:

When I initially started playing, I was a little put off that I couldn't shoot diagonally. That feeling went away when you introduced the enemies that shoot; it made for better gameplay that I had to put myself in the line of fire to destroy them. Play with this concept in your further level designs.

Noticed a couple of very minor bugs, going to list them even though you probably already know them:

    Space resets NO MATTER WHAT.

When moving in the same direction that you are firing, it slows down your movement. I assume you are raycasting against your bullets and the character thinks it can't move because of it; either that or it's a collision issue similar to that. If it's the raycast, you can just set the bullets to the ignore raycast layer to fix it.

Score does not reset when you run out of lives.

    Tips unrelated to the game:

Filefactory and their ilk are terrible hosting experiences; you should look into the public hosting features of Dropbox so you don't have to send your fans through a maze of advertising. (It's free)

You should consider making public builds web-based rather than standalone; I was able to check this out at work, but I don't even have windows installed on my home machine and I probably wouldn't bother to install it just to check out your project (No offense meant by that, just wouldn't really be worth the effort for me).

    1. Yeah, shooting diagonally would kind of ruin the sentries . . . :)

Yeah, it's the raycast thing. I'll fix it. Didn't notice that one. Thanks.

I'll have to change the space reset thing too. Meant to do that. :)

Yeah, I just implemented the scoring system that morning. :) I'll change that.

Yeah, I do want to do web-based versions as well, not offended at all by that (I completely agree), but I have no idea how to do that just yet. I'll look up a tutorial later on.

I'll definitely look into Dropbox. Thanks!

Thank you for the reply. Really appreciate it.

  4. Way to go. I love this type of game and find little that needs to change except for more levels! The gibs that fall are a little odd, as I first thought they were being sucked into the player, but only later realized they were in fact falling. Maybe using a particle effect, or "fog of war" to make them vanish faster would be better.
